RV/Camper/UltraVan space details Last updated: 08/24/2008            TOP

We have arranged with the Ventura County Fairgrounds to have On-Site RV/Camper/UltraVan camping. The area for this is adjacent to the primary area we are using throughout the convention week. See the layout on the Location page.

Note: Due to a rock concert on the fairgrounds property the whole weekend before our convention, arrival at the fairgrounds with your RV/Camper/UltraVan....

You can arrive no sooner than 8:00AM Monday June 23, 2008.

RV spaces will cost $30.00 per day

Do not try to contact the fairgrounds for RV space. CORSA has the space for the week and the registration process is the only method to get a space. RV registration is closed as of June 10.

Regular RVs and Campers...dry camping only, on the lot toward the beach from our building. There is a lot of space here, should not be a limit on the number of RVs/Campers that can reserve here. There actually are some water and sewer hookups, but electricity can not be provided.  Special requests will be taken but without a guarantee that they can be achieved for your special case.

If you did not register in advance but still want an RV/camping space contact John Medley (see below)

Send an email to John Medley at jamedley@roadrunner.com with your special request.

UltraVans only...full hookups in a small grassy area shown below inside the fairgrounds near our building (Maximum about 15) At this time we are expecting enough UltraVans to get close to this maximum! If you have an UltraVan and did not pre-register, show up and I'll find you a spot anyway!

The fairgrounds has restrooms with showers available nearby onsite.

At this time I do no foresee needing to put a limit on the dry RV spaces at the fairgrounds. I know this is going to be popular but the space for RVs is quite large, so don’t panic about getting one. Just register for them through the online or paper registration system. See above. Also remember that you can not show up at the fairgrounds before Monday Morning June 23 around 8AM. Believe me, with a rock concert going on Saturday & Sunday you don’t want to get anywhere near the fairgrounds until Monday. Expect a bit of a mess on Monday morning, but the fairgrounds promises it will be cleaned up quickly. There is a Sam’s Club nearby, and a lot of RV campgrounds which might make good stopover locations. Better yet, spend Sunday at Willow Springs watching Corvair Time Trials on the Streets of Willow road course in Rosamond, CA and drive over from there early on Monday morning - two hours & 110 miles, without having to go through LA.

Local full-service campgrounds are available nearby: Suggested site is: the Ventura RV Resort at 805/643-9137, http://venturabeach-rvresort.com tell them you are with the Corvair convention. This facility is only about eight blocks from the fairgrounds. The rate was $55.00 per day (last time I checked) reservations taken anytime for any dates. They expect to have room for last minute reservations. Ventura RV Resort is shown in the image below to the left just above the freeway above Emma Wood State Beach, which also has RV and camping spaces (Dry)
