Tuesday, June 24

12:00 (noon) to 2:00PM - A presentation by Mark R. Aksamit - “The Limits of Power”

From the beginning, detonation has determined the ceiling of engine performance. It

remains a mystery - however, after our discussion it will be less of a mystery to you.

3:00 to 5:00PM - Blaine Jenkins - GM (retired, interior designer) –“Corvair Interior

Design” Blaine joined Chevrolet in 1956 and was one of three interior designers on

Corvairs from the beginning through 1966 when he joined Olds. There were drawings, full

scale air brush renditions, clay models, etc. Blaine spent time with Cole & Mitchell on show

cars, first Monzas then Corsas. This session will primarily be an informal question and

answer session about the development of Corvair interiors.

Wednesday, June 25

10:00 to 11:00 Eileen Alber Trunk Quilt Show/Lecture titled “Traditional Quilter

to Artist/Entrepreneur” Eileen will discuss quilts, quilting, and her quilting life through

time up to her present status as a local quilt shop owner.

12:00 (noon) through 2:00 plus - Bob Anderson - Presentation on Differentials - As an

assembly, its piece part internals, causes of distress - and what can be done to help it survive

as well as improvements that can be made. There will be vendor room display, and

viewgraph presentation.

Thursday, June 26

12:00 (noon) to 2:00 plus - Dan Drommerhausen - 4-speed Transmissions - 61 through

1969 (includes Corvair 4-speeds and the 66-69 version of the Saginaw transmission).

Rebuilding - improving durability - problem areas - limits of parts interchangeability -

critical clutch adjustment to let the synchros work - accompanied by a slide show.

Friday, June 27

12:00 (noon) to 2:30 - Tom Blass (retired engineer, SAE member), A Dissertation On Air

Cooling. Reviewing air cooling in its entirety from the fan belt through maintenance

(particularly debris often allowed to accumulate - dirt filled oil-cooling radiators and more).

Also a bit about torquing fasteners including some input from ARP, a leading supplier of

quality automotive nuts and bolts.

2:30 to 4:30 - Ray Sedman - Fuel Injection System for the Corvair. The scope of this

tech session will be to discuss various options regarding the design, implementation and

installation of an after-market fuel injection system for the Corvair. We will review basic

EFI control strategies, different ECU types, fuel and intake manifold options for both forced

induction and naturally aspirated engines. Samples of EFI and components will be available

for display and show-n-tell.
